Several houses marketed weights above 800 GSM—showroom plushness that traps moisture and breeds mildew. Others applied silicone finishes that created the illusion of softness while blocking absorption. In some cases, "Egyptian cotton" claims couldn't be verified. In others, construction failed within months of proper use.

The hotel tier performs excellently for institutional laundering. Whether it translates to home use at stated price points is a question worth asking.
